One person has been confirmed dead and 14 others injured following a road crash on the Accra-Kumasi Highway near Paradise Restaurant at Bunso in the Eastern Region.
The crash occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and involved a MAN Diesel truck and a Toyota Hiace.
According to the Eastern Regional Fire Service, the accident happened after the truck reportedly veered into the opposite lane while attempting to give way to a Toyota Vitz, resulting in a collision with the Toyota Hiace.

In a statement filed by the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Region on Thursday, August 13, the Fire Service said, “One person has died and 14 others sustained injuries in a road crash on the Accra–Kumasi Highway near Paradise Restaurant at Bunso on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.”
Firefighters from the Bunso Fire Station were dispatched to the scene and assisted in rescuing those involved in the crash.
The Fire Service said, “The accident involved a MAN Diesel truck and a Toyota Hiace after the truck reportedly veered into the opposite lane while attempting to give way to a Toyota Vitz.”
The firefighters also helped recover the personal belongings of the victims and cleared the accident scene to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.

The statement added, “Firefighters from the Bunso Fire Station responded promptly, assisted in rescue, salvaging personal belongings and cleared the scene to restore traffic.”
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while 14 others sustained injuries and were assisted during the rescue operation.
