Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is scheduled to present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

The announcement was made on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday by the Deputy Majority Leader, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, during the presentation of the Business Statement for the coming week.

The Mid-Year Budget Review is a key component of Ghana’s fiscal management process, providing government with an opportunity to assess economic performance during the first half of the year and make adjustments to policy measures where necessary.

During the presentation, Dr. Forson is expected to provide an update on the performance of the economy over the first six months of 2026, including developments in key macroeconomic indicators.

The Finance Minister is also expected to account for the implementation of the 2026 Budget by outlining expenditure levels and the utilisation of funds allocated under the fiscal plan.

In addition, the review is anticipated to contain proposals for adjustments to government spending and revenue measures aimed at sustaining economic stability and supporting growth.

The presentation will, however, be subject to Parliament’s legislative calendar and is expected to follow consultations between the Finance Minister, Cabinet and President John Dramani Mahama.

Analysts expect the mid-year review to place significant emphasis on government’s strategy to move the economy from stabilisation towards growth, with a focus on job creation, productivity enhancement and private sector-led expansion.

The statement is also expected to provide an update on Ghana’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including developments following the completion of the country’s Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programme.

Government is expected to outline plans for transitioning to the IMF’s Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), which is intended to support policy discipline and guide the country’s economic management in the post-bailout period.
