Government has announced plans to construct bypasses around major towns and cities across the country as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time for commuters.
Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, said the initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to modernise the country’s road infrastructure and improve connectivity.
According to the minister, the construction of bypasses will help divert through traffic away from busy urban centres, ease congestion and facilitate the efficient movement of people and goods.
Mr. Agbodza disclosed the plans during an inspection tour of the 70-kilometre Anyirawasi–Ho–Titirunu Road Project, which is being executed by .
During the visit, the Roads Minister urged the contractor to incorporate the necessary road safety infrastructure along sections of the road near educational institutions, particularly the School of Allied Health located along the project corridor.
He stressed the need for adequate pedestrian facilities and other safety measures to protect students and other road users once the project is completed.
Mr. Agbodza also assured residents and property owners whose structures or lands may be affected by the project that government would ensure adequate compensation is paid in accordance with the law.
The Anyirawasi–Ho–Titirunu Road Project forms part of ongoing efforts by the government to improve road infrastructure and enhance transportation efficiency across the country.
