The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has commended the Mission 300 initiative, describing it as a groundbreaking programme with the potential to significantly expand electricity access and drive economic growth across Africa.
Dr Jinapor made the remarks following a meeting with Damilola Ogunbiyi, Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy for All, as part of efforts to deepen collaboration between Ghana and the global energy organisation.
According to the Minister, discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in key areas including energy access, renewable energy development, and sustainable economic growth.
He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to working closely with international partners to improve access to reliable and affordable electricity while advancing the country’s green transition agenda.
Dr Jinapor highlighted the importance of the Mission 300 initiative, which aims to provide electricity access to 300 million people across Africa by 2030.
He noted that the programme has the potential to transform lives, create economic opportunities, and support inclusive development throughout the continent.
He praised SEforALL for its leadership in promoting universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy solutions, as well as its central role in advancing the ambitious initiative.
“I commended SEforALL for its global leadership in advancing universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy, as well as its pivotal role in supporting Mission 300,” the Minister stated.
He described Mission 300 as a bold intervention that could accelerate Africa’s development agenda by expanding access to electricity and fostering economic empowerment in underserved communities.
