President John Dramani Mahama has begun an official visit to France, arriving in Lyon to take part in the 2026 One Health Summit.
His arrival marks the start of a series of high-level engagements focused on global health cooperation, where he is expected to join fellow heads of state, policymakers, and experts to examine emerging health challenges and sustainable solutions.

A section of the Ghanaian diaspora turned out to welcome the President, reflecting strong community support as he begins his international engagements.
Mahama is set to co-chair key sessions of the summit alongside Emmanuel Macron, contributing to discussions on strengthening global health systems and improving coordinated responses to health threats.

After concluding activities in Lyon, he will proceed to Paris for a bilateral meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace, where attention is expected to shift to diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and France.
