The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals in connection with a murder and assault incident in Gbiniyiri, Savannah Region.
According to a statement signed by ASP Richard Osei Yaw, Staff Officer of the Savannah Regional Police on Minday, March 16, 2026, the suspects—Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa, and Kuma Simpor—were taken into custody on March 14, 2026, following investigations by the IGP’s Special Intelligence Team in collaboration with the Savannah Regional Police Command.
During interrogation, Yaw Bamuah admitted involvement in the attack and revealed the identities of additional accomplices, including Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa, and James Sanyuah, who are currently being sought by the authorities.
“The suspect further disclosed that the attack was carried out in retaliation following the killing of a relative whom they believed had been attacked by robbers suspected to be Fulanis,” the release said.
He also led police to his home in Gbiniyiri, where a single-barrel shotgun with serial number BAT 2598-88 and two live AAA cartridges were recovered from a concealed location.
The three suspects are in police custody assisting with investigations and will be presented before the courts, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining individuals connected to the incident.
