The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has received and handed over relief items from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to Municipal and District Assemblies in the 12 districts affected by the recent floods in the region.
The items were presented by the Volta Regional Director of NADMO, Mr. Pascal Agbagba, as part of government’s emergency response efforts to support affected communities and ease the difficulties faced by flood victims.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, James Gunu commended NADMO for its prompt response and assured that the relief items would be distributed to affected persons in a transparent, fair and timely manner.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing support to communities impacted by the floods and assisting residents in their recovery efforts.
The Regional Minister noted that the scale of the destruction caused by the disaster requires continued support and collaboration from all stakeholders to help affected families rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
He therefore appealed to individuals, corporate organisations, faith-based groups, non-governmental organisations and other well-meaning partners to support government’s efforts by donating relief items and other forms of assistance to displaced families.
Hon. Gunu stressed that a collective response would be essential in addressing the needs of communities affected by the floods and ensuring a smooth recovery process across the Volta Region.
