Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has disclosed that President John Dramani Mahama will in the coming weeks cut sod for the construction of three 160-bed regional referral hospitals.
The hospitals will be constructed in the Oti, Savannah and Western North Regions as part of the government’s broader strategy to improve healthcare delivery and expand access to quality medical services across the country.
According to Mr. Ofosu, the projects form part of efforts by the Mahama administration to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and address gaps in access to specialised and referral services in underserved areas.
The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Abura -Asebu- Kwamankese in the Central Region made this disclosure in a post on his Facebook wall on Tuesday September 21, 2026
He said the three facilities would serve as key referral centres for their respective regions and complement existing health infrastructure.
Mr. Ofosu made the disclosure while highlighting government’s ongoing interventions to improve the country’s healthcare system.
The Minister also shared the architectural design for the proposed 160-bed Regional Referral Hospital in the Oti Region, which is expected to provide a range of medical services when completed.
The sod-cutting ceremonies for the three projects are expected to take place in the coming weeks, marking the commencement of construction.
