Leader of the Trans Africa Tourism and Unity Campaign, Ras Mubarak, has celebrated the 85th birthday of retired Commodore Steve Obimpeh, a former Chief of the Ghana Navy and former government minister.
In a birthday message, Mr Mubarak described the occasion as an opportunity to honour Commodore Obimpeh for his years of service to Ghana.
Commodore Obimpeh, who served as Chief of the Ghana Navy, later served in government as Minister of Health and subsequently as Minister of Food and Agriculture under the administration of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr Mubarak paid tribute to what he described as the selfless leadership of the generation associated with the Rawlings administration.
“The Rawlings generation gave Ghana selfless leadership.
We have a lot to learn from them,” he said.
He wished the retired military officer a happy birthday and commended him for his years of service to the country.
“Happy birthday, Commodore,” Mr Mubarak said in his message.
