The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that mandatory medical screening for prospective pilgrims intending to perform Hajj 2027 will begin on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The exercise, according to a statement issued by the PAOG on September 22, will be conducted at designated medical screening centres across the country.
The Office said medical screening is a mandatory requirement and a prerequisite for the processing and issuance of Hajj visas.
All prospective pilgrims are therefore required to undergo the screening and obtain medical clearance before proceeding with their Hajj preparations.
The screening fee has been set at GH¢650 per pilgrim.
Prospective pilgrims are required to present their valid travel passports and passport numbers at the designated screening centres.
The PAOG has advised pilgrims to ensure that their passport details are accurate and readily available to avoid delays during the screening process.
To ensure an orderly exercise and prevent overcrowding, pilgrims travelling through accredited Hajj travel agents have been directed to contact their respective agents to book screening appointments on their behalf.
Direct-payment and protocol pilgrims, meanwhile, are required to contact the Ghana Hajj Board Secretariat to obtain their assigned appointment dates.
The PAOG has urged all prospective pilgrims to strictly adhere to their assigned screening dates and schedules.
The Office also encouraged pilgrims to book their appointments early and report to their designated screening centres as scheduled to facilitate a smooth screening process.
