The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Julius Kwame Anthony as a Deputy Communications Director, effective immediately, as the party moves to strengthen its communications operations and public engagement.
The appointment was approved by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, according to a statement issued by the NDC National Secretariat.
The statement, signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, said the appointment reflects the party’s commitment to improving how it communicates its policies, programmes and achievements to the public.
“Mr Anthony’s appointment reflects the Party’s commitment to strengthening its communications machinery, enhancing public engagement, and effectively articulating the policies, programmes, and achievements of the NDC-led government.”
The party said Mr. Anthony’s experience in communication would help strengthen its ability to project its vision and deepen public understanding of its policy direction under President John Dramani Mahama.
“He brings to the position a sound understanding of communication and its strategic application in advancing the Party’s objectives.”
The NDC expressed confidence that Mr Anthony would bring dedication, professionalism and responsibility to the role while working with the Communications Directorate and other relevant party structures.
The party also urged media organisations across print, electronic and digital platforms, as well as other stakeholders, to take note of the appointment and accord him the necessary recognition in the performance of his official duties.
The Functional Executive Committee congratulated Mr Anthony and wished him success in his new role.
The appointment comes as the NDC continues to communicate the policies and programmes of the Mahama-led government under the Reset Agenda, while the party looks ahead to the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Anthony’s appointment is expected to strengthen the party’s communications capacity and public engagement as it seeks to articulate its policy positions and communicate its achievements to Ghanaians.
The NDC also identified Godwin Ako Gunn, Kakra Essamuah and Julius Kwame Anthony as the party’s official voices and contact persons for matters concerning the NDC.
