Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, an aspirant for the National First Vice Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has engaged executives and party faithful across all 11 constituencies in the Upper West Region as part of his campaign for the position.
The constituencies engaged were Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, Jirapa, Lambussie, Lawra, Nadowli-Kaleo, Nandom, Sissala East, Sissala West, Wa East, Wa Central and Wa West.
Dr Abdul-Hamid said the engagements were “frank and insightful,” adding that they gave him a clearer understanding of the expectations of party members and executives at the grassroots.
According to him, the engagements demonstrated that NPP members are looking for leaders with a proven commitment to the party, experience and a track record of remaining dedicated to its cause.
He expressed gratitude to the NPP Regional and Constituency Executives for the reception and the organisation and coordination of his engagements throughout the region.
Dr Abdul-Hamid also singled out the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency for special appreciation after its executives presented him with a smock as a symbol of their relationship.
He said he accepted the gesture as a commitment to pay particular attention to the constituency’s needs and work with its executives to advance the interests of the NPP.
He further pledged to adopt the constituency and collaborate with its leadership to secure what he described as “meaningful gains” for the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He noted that engagements form part the efforts to interact with party structures and build support for his bid for the NPP’s National First Vice Chairman position ahead of the October election.
