A man has been arrested at Antoakrom in the Manso Nkwanta District of the Ashanti Region for unlawfully possessing and wearing a police uniform without authorization.
The suspect, identified as Osei Kwame, popularly known as “Nsafufoo,” was captured in a viral video appearing intoxicated while dressed in the uniform of the Ghana Police Service.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, sparked public concern, prompting swift action from the police.
In a statement posted on [X] on Thursday, July 3, the Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
The police have reiterated that impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious offense and warned the public against such acts.
Investigations are ongoing to determine how the suspect obtained the uniform and whether he was involved in any other criminal activities while posing as an officer.
