The Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, has paid tribute to the late former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Ibrahim Adam, describing him as a distinguished public servant who remained deeply connected to agriculture and his people.
Dr Debrah delivered a message on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the 3rd Day Prayer held in memory of the late Ibrahim Adam.
The late Ibrahim Adam, described as a “true son of the North,” was a distinguished animal scientist who served in several key public positions, including Agriculture Secretary, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Member of Parliament for Choggu-Tishigu, and Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).
In the President’s message, Dr Debrah highlighted the deceased’s commitment to agriculture and his belief that agricultural knowledge and scientific innovation should directly benefit farmers.
He said Ibrahim Adam believed that agricultural science must reach farmers in their communities rather than remain confined to offices in Accra.
According to the tribute, his dedication to public service and his contribution to agriculture had left a lasting impact on the people he served.
Dr Debrah said the late minister’s legacy would continue to live on through the lives he touched and the service he rendered to the country.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, have mercy on him and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for Allah to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family as they mourned their loss.
