The Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has toured several flood-prone areas in Accra to assess the impact of recent heavy rains and persistent drainage blockages across the city.
The inspection covered key locations including Jamestown, the Korle Lagoon, Kaneshie First Light, Darkuman Junction, Atico, and Abossey Okai, all of which have been severely affected by flooding and poor drainage systems following recent downpours.
The visit formed part of efforts to better understand the extent of damage caused by blocked drains and to identify practical interventions to improve flood management in the capital.
According to officials, insights gathered from the tour will guide immediate drain-clearing operations and support broader flood prevention measures currently being implemented across Accra.
The initiative is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts by relevant stakeholders to reduce flooding risks, improve sanitation infrastructure, and enhance urban resilience during the rainy season.
