The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has held strategic discussions with the management of the Ho Teaching Hospital to strengthen collaboration aimed at improving access to specialist healthcare services.
The meeting, led by the Fund’s Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Opoku-Darko, reviewed lessons from the GMTF’s successful 50-patient pilot programme and explored ways to enhance the rollout of the GMTFcare digital platform.
The engagement also focused on practical steps towards fulfilling President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to establish a Cardiology Centre for the Volta Region.
During the discussions, Ms. Opoku-Darko commended the Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Kwame Governs Agbodza, for donating an additional three months of his salary towards the construction of the proposed Cardiology Centre.
She described the contribution as a strong demonstration of commitment to improving access to specialist healthcare and supporting the delivery of quality medical services in the region.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund and Ho Teaching Hospital reaffirmed their commitment to working together to expand access to quality, affordable specialist care, particularly for Ghanaians living with chronic diseases.
