Ghana has condemned a drone attack near Dubai International Airport that injured two Ghanaian nationals earlier today.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorities confirmed that the two Ghanaians sustained non-critical injuries and are receiving medical care.
Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, along with officials from the Ghanaian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai, has visited the victims in hospital.
“The Government of Ghana strongly condemns any act that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure,” the statement read, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and key international transport hubs.
The Ministry reassured the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and continues to collaborate with local authorities in the UAE to provide consular support.
Ghana is also supporting ongoing consultations at the United Nations aimed at passing a resolution to halt hostilities in conflict zones.
Ghanaian citizens in the Gulf region are urged to exercise caution and follow guidance from Ghanaian diplomatic missions and local authorities.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Ghanaians abroad and pledged to provide updates as the situation develops.
