The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has signed two landmark Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) with the Design and Technology Institute (DTI) and the Christian Council of Ghana to strengthen youth skills development, employment, entrepreneurship and values-based leadership across the country.

The agreements, spearheaded by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, form part of the government’s broader strategy to equip young Ghanaians with industry-relevant skills while promoting responsible citizenship and expanding employment opportunities.

Under the partnership with the Design and Technology Institute, the Ministry will collaborate on delivering industry-driven skills training programmes aimed at improving the employability of young people and supporting entrepreneurship.

The agreement with the Christian Council of Ghana will harness the Council’s nationwide network to promote volunteerism, national values, responsible digital citizenship, substance abuse prevention and psychosocial support for young people.

According to the Ministry, the partnerships will expand access to high-quality technical and vocational training, enabling more young Ghanaians to acquire practical skills that meet the demands of industry.

The initiative is also expected to create inclusive opportunities for women, persons with disabilities, vulnerable youth and underserved communities, providing pathways to both local and international employment.

The Ministry said the collaboration combines its policy leadership with the technical expertise of the Design and Technology Institute and the extensive community outreach of the Christian Council of Ghana to enhance workforce development and youth empowerment.

It added that the partnerships reflect a shared commitment to unlocking the potential of Ghana’s youth by building a skilled, values-driven and globally competitive workforce capable of driving the country’s socio-economic development
