National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo, has described the party’s National Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) Conference as an emotional milestone as his tenure draws to a close.
Addressing delegates at the conference, Mr Opare Addo reflected on his years of service and thanked party members, activists, and supporters whose contributions shaped his leadership journey.
“This is not just another gathering of leaders, activists and comrades. This is my last TEIN conference as your National Youth Organiser,” he said.
He said the occasion had prompted him to reflect on the relationships, sacrifices, challenges and victories that had defined his time in office.
Mr Opare Addo stressed that his achievements as National Youth Organiser were the result of collective effort, acknowledging the contributions of party members across the country.
“So today before I say anything else, I want to say well done. I did not bear this journey alone. And I will never claim I did,” he said.
He paid tribute to party faithful whose contributions, he noted, often went unrecognised despite their role in the NDC’s activities and successes.
“Every victory we celebrate today has a fingerprint of countless comrades whose names we may never or may never appear in the newspapers, whose pictures may never be taken at our biggest events and activities, but who sacrificed, perennially written into the history of this party,” he said.
The outgoing youth organiser also recounted the early days of his tenure, which began in 2018, and the discussions that led to the development of the NDC’s Green Army initiative.
