The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College has officially launched its 50th anniversary celebrations at Hamidu Hall in Teshie, marking five decades of professional military education and leadership training.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, military leadership, past commandants, academic participants, and invited guests.

In a message commemorating the milestone, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President John Dramani Mahama, highlighted the strategic importance of the College in addressing emerging security challenges in the sub-region.

He reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting the institution to sustain its status as a centre of excellence in military training and education.

Delivering the keynote address on the theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Professional Military Education,” the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, praised the College for its contribution to leadership development and its integration of military training with academic excellence for both Ghanaian and international officers.

As part of the launch activities, Mr. Debrah participated in a symbolic tree-planting exercise and also cut the sod for anniversary projects marking the golden jubilee celebrations.

Dignitaries present included the Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, Chief Director of the Ministry of Defence, Emmanuel Kartey, as well as past commandants and senior military officers.
