Preparations for Ghana’s 2027 national budget are underway, with the Electoral Commission (EC) participating in the ongoing budget hearings at the Ministry of Finance.
The Commission has taken its turn before the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson to present its budgetary requirements and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
The hearings form part of the Ministry’s preparations for the 2027 Budget and are intended to enable state institutions to outline their programmes, funding needs and planned activities for the year ahead.
The Electoral Commission’s participation was to inform the allocation of resources needed to support its operations and fulfil its constitutional mandate.
The ongoing budget hearings bring together government Ministries, Departments and Agencies as the government works towards finalising the 2027 Budget.
