The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that its contact centre telephone line is temporarily out of service following a fibre cut affecting connectivity.

The company said its technical team, together with its service provider, is working to restore the affected service as quickly as possible.

In a public notice to customers and the general public, ECG disclosed that its contact centre number, 0302 611 611, is currently unavailable due to the disruption.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform you, and the general public that our Contact Center line (0302 611 611) is currently out of service due to a fibre cut,” the company stated.

ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience and urged the public to use its official digital communication channels for inquiries and assistance while efforts to restore the telephone service continue.

The power distribution company has encouraged customers who need assistance to contact it through its official social media platforms or email.

According to ECG, customers can reach the company on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn through its official handle, @ECGghOfficial.

Customers can also send inquiries and requests for assistance to help@ecggh.com.

The company said; “Our technical team and the service provider are working to restore connectivity as quickly as possible.”

ECG also expressed regret over the disruption, stating; “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

The temporary outage means customers who rely on the affected contact centre number may need to use the alternative communication channels provided by the company until the service is restored.

ECG has not indicated in its notice when the telephone line is expected to become operational again.

Customers are therefore encouraged to monitor the company’s official communication channels for further updates and use the published alternatives for inquiries and assistance.

The company concluded its notice by thanking customers for their understanding.
