The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that by-elections will be held across Ghana on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to fill vacancies in various electoral areas and unit committees following the deaths or resignations of some Assembly and Unit Committee members.

In a statement signed by the Chairperson, Jean Mensa, the Commission said nomination forms are available at all EC district offices and on its website from October 6 to October 16, 2025.

Completed forms must be submitted between October 13 and 16, 2025, with candidates required to provide two passport-sized photos with a red background.

The EC explained that aspiring Assembly members must have their nominations endorsed by 18 registered voters, while Unit Committee aspirants need eight registered voters as supporters.

The by-elections will be conducted in over 1,500 polling stations across multiple regions, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Volta, Eastern, Central, Bono, Ahafo, Western, and Western North.

The Commission urged interested persons to contact their respective Returning Officers at EC district offices for further clarification and assistance.
