Dreams FC has been named Ghana’s highest-ranked football club in the latest Confederation of African Football (CAF) club rankings ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Ghana Premier League side occupies the 32nd position in Africa, following its impressive performances in recent CAF inter-club competitions, particularly its strong campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Dreams FC’s continental exploits earned the club enough ranking points to emerge as the leading Ghanaian representative on the latest CAF list.
Another Ghanaian club featured in the rankings is Medeama SC, who are placed 54th on the continent.
However, traditional giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko do not appear on the latest ranking table.
The rankings are based on clubs’ performances in CAF-sanctioned competitions, with teams accumulating points through their results in continental tournaments.
At the summit of the rankings is South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns, who lead with 73 points, followed by Egyptian giants Al Ahly with 66 points.
Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis, Morocco’s RS Berkane, and Algeria’s USM Alger complete the top five clubs on the continent.
The latest CAF rankings place Dreams FC and Medeama SC as Ghana’s only representatives, highlighting the growing impact of their recent performances in African club competitions.
