The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and Ernst & Young Ghana (EY Ghana) have resolved regulatory issues concerning the licensing requirements for the provision of cybersecurity services.

In a joint statement dated Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the two institutions said they had engaged constructively to address concerns surrounding licence fees and related administrative requirements.

“The parties have undertaken discussions and taken steps to clarify and address matters relating to licence fees and the associated administrative requirements. Subsequently, regulatory issues between the CSA and EY Ghana have been satisfactorily resolved.”

The development follows engagements between the cybersecurity regulator and EY Ghana as both institutions sought to clarify their respective obligations under Ghana’s cybersecurity regulatory framework.

The CSA, established under the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), is responsible for regulating cybersecurity activities in Ghana, including the licensing of cybersecurity service providers.

Under the regulatory framework, organisations providing regulated cybersecurity services are required to meet specified licensing and compliance requirements.

The two institutions said the discussions had resulted in a collaborative resolution of the issues and reaffirmed their commitment to Ghana’s cybersecurity regime.

“The CSA and EY Ghana value the constructive and collaborative approach that has resulted in the resolution of these regulatory issues, and both parties remain committed to supporting Ghana’s cybersecurity regulatory framework.”

The CSA also emphasised that its regulatory role goes beyond enforcement, stressing the importance of helping organisations understand and comply with their obligations.

“The Cyber Security Authority reiterates that its objective is not only to enforce compliance but also to support organisations in understanding and meeting their regulatory obligations.”

The Authority said it would continue working towards strengthening Ghana’s digital environment through regulation and cooperation with industry players.
