The leadership of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has visited Nexans Kabelmetal Ghana Limited to inspect the production of cables required for the restoration of the Akosombo Substation Control Room in the Eastern Region.
The delegation, led by GRIDCo’s Chief Executive, included the Director of Technical Services, Ing. Vincent Boachie; Director of Procurement, Ing. Nicholina Yembillah; and Director of Corporate Strategy, Samuel Kow Acquah.
During the visit, the team toured the manufacturing facility under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer of Nexans Kabelmetal Ghana Limited, Alexander Quarcoopome, who took them through the various stages of cable production.
Mr. Quarcoopome explained the company’s manufacturing processes, including testing procedures and quality assurance measures aimed at ensuring the cables meet the required technical standards.
GRIDCo said the inspection forms part of its efforts to closely monitor the production of critical materials and ensure their timely delivery for the ongoing restoration works at the Akosombo Substation Control Room.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to working with local partners and stakeholders to support reliable power transmission infrastructure and enhance the resilience of Ghana’s electricity supply system.
