Several high-profile criminal cases uner Oeration Recover All Loot(ORAL) involving former public officials and individuals accused in major corruption and financial crime investigations are scheduled to come before the courts this week.
Proceedings will begin today Monday, July 20, with the Criminal Court expected to deliver judgment on an application seeking a constitutional interpretation in the case involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and two others in connection with the Samreboi illegal mining case.
Later in the morning, the Specialised Court will hear a motion by lawyers for Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba and another accused person seeking to strike out the charge sheet in the Buffer Stock case.
The High Court will also hold a case management conference in the criminal proceedings involving former National Service Authority Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi.
On Tuesday, July 21, the Specialised Court is expected to commence the substantive trial in the Buffer Stock case after hearing preliminary applications.
The week’s proceedings will continue on Wednesday, July 22, when the Criminal Court takes further directions in the Skytrain case involving Asamoah and another accused person.
On Thursday, July 23, the Specialized Court will continue hearing the cybersecurity software scandal case involving Kwabena Adu Boahene and two others, use the old with the cross-examination of the fourth prosecution witness expected to resume.
Later the same day, the Criminal Court will continue proceedings in the National Service case involving former Deputy Executive Director Gifty Oware Mensah, where the third prosecution witness is scheduled to undergo cross-examination.
The hearings form part of ongoing judicial proceedings in several high-profile cases involving allegations of corruption, financial misconduct and other criminal offences currently before Ghana’s courts.
