German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, has held discussions with Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah on strengthening Ghana-Germany relations, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation, investment and job creation.
The meeting, described by the Ambassador as a cordial engagement between friends, focused on the longstanding ties between the two countries and opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation.
According to Ambassador Landshöft, the discussions highlighted the trust underpinning Ghana-Germany relations and the need to translate the strong partnership between the two countries into concrete economic opportunities.
A particularly personal moment during the meeting came when Dr Debrah showed the Ambassador a photograph and shared memories of his close friendship with Ghana’s late Defence Minister.
The Ambassador noted that only a few days earlier, the Chief of Staff had joined Ghanaians to pay tribute to the late Defence Minister at the unveiling of a cenotaph in front of the Ministry of Defence.
He said the moment served as a reminder that beyond politics and institutions, international relations are ultimately shaped by people, friendships and shared memories.
The two officials also discussed plans to deepen German-Ghanaian economic relations in the coming months.
Ambassador Landshöft disclosed that several high-level German business delegations are expected in Ghana this autumn as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties.
The delegations will lead into the German-African Business Summit scheduled for November, which is expected to bring together hundreds of German companies operating across Africa.
The Ambassador described Ghana as an important political and economic partner for Germany, stressing that the relationship is based on mutual interests and equal partnership.
He said creating new business opportunities, attracting investment and generating jobs would require innovative ideas, viable opportunities and, importantly, sustained trust between the two countries.
Ambassador Landshöft expressed gratitude to Dr Julius Debrah for his openness, advice and continued cooperation.
He emphasised that strong relations between countries ultimately grow through meaningful relationships between their people
