The Mayor of Accra, Mr. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, has donated GHS132,000 alongside food items and sanitation tools to support victims of recent floods in parts of the city.
The support was extended to affected residents in Avenor, Circle Neoplan Station, North Kaneshie and Bubuashie as part of ongoing relief efforts by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to assist households impacted by the disaster.
According to the Assembly, the intervention forms part of broader recovery measures aimed at providing immediate relief to victims while promoting sanitation and environmental clean-up in flood-hit communities.
Officials say the donation is intended to help affected families recover from losses and restore basic living conditions following the recent heavy rains that caused widespread flooding in the capital.
The AMA has assured residents of continued support as it works with stakeholders to address the impact of the floods and implement measures to reduce future occurrences.
