A 25-year-old man, Kwabina Gyasi, has suffered multiple cutlass wounds after being attacked by a farmer at Benso in the Western Region.
Kwabina, who recently moved to the area in search of work, was allegedly caught defecating on the cocoa farm of a man known only as Mr. Cudjoe.
According to eyewitnesses, the farmer confronted him over the act, and a heated argument broke out.
In the process, Mr. Cudjoe reportedly pulled out a cutlass and inflicted deep cuts on the young man.
Residents quickly intervened and helped Kwabina obtain a police report before rushing him to the Benso Government Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
However, despite the severity of the attack, the suspect has not yet been arrested.
Sources say the man who brought Kwabina to the town, commonly referred to as his “master,” has refused to take the matter up with the police, allegedly due to his personal ties with Mr. Cudjoe.
Local authorities say the case is under investigation.
