Former Member of Parliament for Bortianor‑Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has formally announced his intention to contest the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
Speaking in an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Mr. Tetteh emphasized that the NPP requires bold, innovative, and pragmatic leadership to position the party for victory in the 2028 general elections, adding that he is confident in his ability to provide such leadership.
“I have made up my mind to contest for the General Secretary position of our great party. The time has come to inject new energy, innovative ideas, and strategic thinking into the administrative leadership of the NPP,” he declared.
According to him, the NPP’s future success depends on introducing a tech-driven approach to party leadership, aimed at strengthening party structures, enhancing internal communication, and building unity at all levels.
“The NPP needs innovation, energy, and unity – and I am ready to serve,” he stated.
Mr. Tetteh also underscored the need for a General Secretary who is committed to party unity and capable of leveraging modern digital tools and data to improve the party’s capacity across the country.
So far, he is the first senior party member to officially declare interest in the General Secretary race.
