The Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), has paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Virginia Palmer, former United States Ambassador to Ghana.
Mr. Tameklo was accompanied by key members of the NPA leadership, including Deputy Chief Executives Dr. Sheila Addo and Dr. Dramani Bukari, Director of Administration and Insurance Mr. Kodwo Abbiw Jackson, and Head of Protocol and Logistics Mrs. Genevieve Bissue.
The visit, led by the newly appointed NPA head, was part of efforts to deepen collaboration between the Authority and the U.S. Embassy, and to explore opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships between Ghana and the United States.
In his remarks, Mr. Tameklo underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two countries, particularly in the downstream petroleum sector.
He cited the ongoing partnership with Authentix, a U.S.-based company that provides fuel authentication services to the NPA—as a model of successful cooperation.
The fuel authentication programme is vital to ensuring product quality, curbing fuel adulteration, and improving tax revenue collection from petroleum sales.
Ambassador Palmer, in her response, expressed the U.S. Embassy’s continued commitment to supporting Ghana’s energy sector and encouraging American investment in the country.
She emphasized the importance of such engagements in bolstering bilateral relations and fostering sustainable development.
The visit marked an important step toward enhancing strategic partnerships, reinforcing Ghana’s role in the global petroleum industry, and paving the way for continued collaboration between both nations.
