The Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has recognised 16 radio and television stations for complying with music royalty payment obligations out of more than 700 broadcasters operating across the country.
The recognition is aimed at acknowledging broadcasters that pay royalties for the use of music in their programmes and uphold copyright laws to support Ghana’s creative industry.
In a post on X on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, GHAMRO commended the selected stations for their commitment to respecting copyright regulations and contributing to the growth of the creative economy.
“We celebrate and appreciate our Top Complying 2026 Broadcasting Channels for leading by example, respecting copyright laws, and directly championing the Ghanaian creative economy,” the organisation stated.
The recognition highlights the importance of royalty payments in ensuring that musicians, composers and other rights holders receive compensation when their works are used for broadcasting.
The 16 stations named by GHAMRO are Joy FM, Hitz FM, Asempa FM, Adom TV, Adom FM, Luv FM, Nhyira FM, Joy Prime, Sporty FM, Pent Radio, Pent TV, Citi FM, Channel One TV, PCG TV, Hope FM and Lucky TV.
The organisation’s recognition comes amid ongoing efforts to promote copyright compliance and improve the payment of royalties to music creators whose works are used across Ghana’s broadcasting industry.
By highlighting compliant broadcasters, GHAMRO is encouraging other media organisations to fulfil their royalty obligations and support the sustainability of the country’s music industry.
