Raymond Archer, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has highlighted his extensive professional experience spanning national security, corporate risk consultancy, counter-fraud investigations, entrepreneurship and investigative journalism.
In a statement outlining his professional background, Mr Archer said he has accumulated 15 years of experience as a national security specialist, alongside 16 years as an international risk consultant specialising in corporate intelligence, corporate risk and international investigations.
He also stated that he has 14 years of experience as a certified counter-fraud specialist and 15 years as an entrepreneur.
Mr Archer further highlighted a 20-year career in investigative journalism, during which he said he became the first African journalist and the youngest recipient of the Global Gold for Excellence in Journalism under the Lorenzo Natali Prize of the International Federation of Journalists.
According to the statement, Mr Archer holds a postgraduate qualification in Intelligence and Security from the United Kingdom, as well as a postgraduate qualification in Leading Innovation and Change.
His other professional qualifications include certification as a Counter Fraud Specialist in the UK and diplomas in Criminology, National Security, Application of Intelligence, Private Investigations and Journalism.
He also listed fellowships with Marquette University/Les Aspen Center for Government in the United States and the International Visitors Programme of the US State Department.
Mr Archer further stated that he served as a United Nations consultant involved in the operationalisation of Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office.
Mr Archer’s statement also listed several awards and recognitions he has received during his career.
These include a Global Medal for Excellence in Journalism and a Gold Medal for Excellence in Journalism in Africa, both attributed to the International Federation of Journalists.
He also listed recognition as Co-Winner of Best West African Journalist by the West African Journalists Association (WAJA), as well as the Best Investigative Journalist award for 2001-2002 from the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Mr Archer’s current professional profile identifies him as Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, a position he has held since February 2025.
He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of AD, where his stated areas of work include national security consulting, intelligence analysis, and civilian and corporate security systems.
