Godwin Ayaba Mahama, an aspiring Greater Accra Regional Secretary on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC), has announced plans to pick his nomination forms as the party opens nominations for the position today October 6.
In a statement, Mr Mahama said, subject to the party’s election timetable, he intends to pick up his nomination forms on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, when nominations are expected to open.
He said he would complete the necessary processes and file his nomination within the stipulated period.
Mr Mahama said he would continue to update supporters, other aspirants and current party executives across the 34 constituencies in the Greater Accra Region as his campaign progresses.
He said his commitment to sharing updates throughout the process was intended to demonstrate his belief in transparency and accountability as important elements of democratic practice.
Mr Mahama said that if given the opportunity to serve as Regional Secretary, he would seek to discharge his responsibilities with humility, dedication and purpose.
He has anchored his campaign around three main priorities: unity, jobs and mobilisation, with the stated objective of expanding the number of seats held by the party in the Greater Accra Region.
“The journey has begun. Let us walk it together,” he said.
