A member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Captain Blessed Godsbrain Smart, has urged aspirants contesting the party’s constituency executive elections to conduct their campaigns with dignity, humility and mutual respect.
In a message to party members as the nomination process begins, Captain Smart extended his best wishes to aspirants across the Central Region, particularly members of the Gomoa West Constituency.
He described the decision by party members to step forward to contest the elections as an expression of courage, sacrifice and commitment to the NDC.
According to him, the contest should go beyond personal ambition and focus on the responsibility of serving the party, defending its values and contributing to its organisational strength.
He called on aspirants and their supporters to maintain unity throughout the campaign and ensure that differences arising from the contest do not undermine the party’s broader interests.
“Positions may separate us temporarily, but our common purpose must always unite us.”
Captain Blessed urged contestants to campaign based on ideas and conviction while showing respect for one another.
He stressed that no individual position should be considered more important than the party, warning that electoral victories should not come at the expense of the NDC’s unity.
He also called on party members to close ranks, heal divisions and work towards building what he described as a stronger, more organised and formidable NDC.
Captain Blessed Smart further prayed for wisdom, strength and guidance for all aspirants and expressed hope for a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral process.
“Together, we rise. Together, we serve. Together, we build a stronger NDC.”
He concluded by expressing his solidarity with the NDC, the Central Region and the Gomoa West Constituency as the party’s constituency-level electoral process gets underway.
