The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has decorated Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters with his new rank of Chief Inspector in recognition of his bravery during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region.
The decoration took place on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the National Police Headquarters in Accra, where the IGP personally conferred the new rank on Inspector Atubra.
Inspector Atubra was promoted following his exceptional efforts in saving lives and protecting property during the fire incident at Aboso on August 26, 2026.
Commending him for his conduct, the IGP praised Inspector Atubra’s courage, swift response and dedication to duty in the face of danger.
Mr Yohuno said the officer’s actions demonstrated the highest ideals of professionalism, courage and service expected of members of the Ghana Police Service.
He urged other officers to emulate Inspector Atubra’s commitment to protecting lives and property and upholding the core values of the Police Service.
