The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, has inspected the newly constructed multi-purpose sports complex at Abiriw in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.
The inspection formed part of a routine exercise by the Ministry to assess the progress, condition and operational needs of key sports infrastructure across the country.
Mr Adams, accompanied by management officials of the Ministry, toured the facility to assess the infrastructure and identify areas requiring attention to ensure the complex serves its intended purpose.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the Minister and his team to engage with stakeholders on the potential use and development of the facility to support sports activities within the Okere District and surrounding communities.
The multi-purpose sports complex is expected to provide residents, particularly young people, with improved access to sporting facilities and create opportunities for the development of sporting talent in the area.
The Ministry said the inspection forms part of its broader efforts to monitor sports infrastructure, identify gaps and ensure that facilities constructed across the country are properly utilised and maintained.
The visit to Abiriw is expected to inform subsequent decisions on the management and further development of the facility.
