NPP communications strategist Dennis Miracles Aboagye has pledged his full support for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2028 presidential election, promising a new approach to political communication aimed at helping the party return to power.
In a strongly worded post on X, Mr Aboagye said the NPP communications team was ready to work across Ghana to ensure that Dr Bawumia’s message reaches voters in every part of the country.
Addressing Dr Bawumia directly, he wrote: “Sir, We have 827 days to the 2028 election.”
Mr Aboagye said the “entire elephant family” across the country was united behind Dr Bawumia and prepared to work towards victory in the 2028 election.
“The entire elephant family accross the country is united behind you and poised to work for victory,” he wrote.
He further assured Dr Bawumia of the commitment of the NPP communications directorate, saying the team would take the former Vice President’s message to voters across the country.
“From the communications Directorate, you can count on us, completely. We will cover every space in this country, and ensure every voter in Ghana gets to hear your vision,” Mr Aboagye stated.
According to the NPP communications strategist, the party’s engagement with voters will be based on facts, in line with what he said were instructions from Dr Bawumia.
“Just as you have instructed, our conversation with the Ghanaian voter will be grounded in facts only,” he wrote.
Mr Aboagye also indicated that the NPP communications team would adopt what he described as a completely different approach ahead of the 2028 election.
“Your excellency, we are going to use a completely different approach moving forward,” he said.
He then issued a strong declaration about the communications strategy the team intends to pursue, stating: “WE WILL COMMAND THE NARRATIVE.”
Mr Aboagye added: “They won’t see it coming. The boys and the girls are ready.”
The comments signal an intention by the NPP communications team to take a more proactive approach to political messaging as the party prepares for the 2028 election. Rather than simply responding to issues raised by political opponents, the strategy appears focused on actively shaping the political conversation and ensuring that Dr Bawumia’s message reaches voters nationwide.
Mr Aboagye concluded his message by expressing his personal confidence in Dr Bawumia and his belief that the former Vice President deserves to become Ghana’s president.
“You are a Good man and you deserve to be President in 2029,” he wrote.
Dr Bawumia was the NPP’s presidential candidate in the 2024 general election and remains a prominent figure within the party as preparations towards the 2028 presidential contest take shape.
