Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed profound gratitude to the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion Church for honouring him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was presented to Dr Bawumia during the church’s 3rd Biennial Conference held at the Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast.
Dr Bawumia said the recognition was in appreciation of the support he had provided to the church over the years.
According to him, the honour was not merely a personal achievement but a reflection of the impact that could be made when individuals and institutions commit themselves to serving God, country and their communities.
“This recognition is not just a personal honour; it is a testament to what we can achieve together when we dedicate ourselves to the upliftment of our communities and the service of God and country,” he said.
The NPP flagbearer also expressed his appreciation to Bishop Hilliard Dogbe, whom he described as a “dear brother and friend” and “a great man of God.”
Dr Bawumia called for continued efforts to support poor and vulnerable people in society, urging citizens to use their positions and resources to contribute to the welfare and development of their communities.
He further prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Ghana and for strength and wisdom for citizens to serve the nation with integrity and purpose.
“May God use us all to uplift the poor and vulnerable in our society,” he said.
He concluded by invoking God’s blessings on Ghana and its people.
