The Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C. has cautioned the public against a fraudulent website allegedly impersonating the Embassy and falsely presenting itself as its official online platform.
The Embassy said the website, ghanaembassydcorg.com, is not connected to the Ghanaian mission and has neither been authorised nor endorsed by it.
In a public advisory, the Embassy said the website appeared to have been created to impersonate the mission and could contain false or misleading information about its services and activities.
“The Embassy states unequivocally that this website is not operated, authorized, endorsed by, or affiliated in any way with the Embassy of Ghana,” the advisory stated.
The Embassy has consequently urged members of the public not to engage with the website or rely on information published on the platform.
It specifically cautioned the public against submitting personal or sensitive information, making payments or conducting any transactions through the website.
“Members of the public are strongly advised not to rely on or engage with the website, submit personal or sensitive information, make payments, or conduct any transaction through it,” the Embassy said.
It further warned that anyone who disregards the advisory and accesses or uses the website does so entirely at their own risk.
The Embassy encouraged the public to direct enquiries and reports to information.washington@mfa.gov.gh.
