The Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., has reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring fair pricing, compliance, and collaboration within Ghana’s downstream oil and gas sector. He made this commitment while delivering the keynote address at the maiden edition of Downstream Dialogue 2025, organized by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra.

Speaking on the theme “Ghana’s Downstream Oil and Gas Sector: Challenges and Opportunities,” Mr. Tameklo outlined the NPA’s ongoing efforts to implement the government’s 24-hour economy policy within the petroleum industry. He emphasized that this policy would enhance efficiency, promote economic growth, and ensure a steady and reliable supply of petroleum products across the country.

Mr. Tameklo also stressed the importance of affordability, quality, and reliability in fuel distribution, reaffirming the NPA’s strict stance on compliance and fair pricing. He assured industry players and consumers that the Authority would continue working towards a transparent and well-regulated market that benefits all stakeholders.

In conclusion, he called for enhanced collaboration among industry players, policymakers, and regulators to build a resilient petroleum sector that can withstand global and local challenges.

The two-day event, which brings together key stakeholders in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector, was graced by several high-profile dignitaries, including the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Jinapor, the Deputy Minister Designate, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, and the Deputy Chief Executive of the NPA, Dr. Sheila Addo.

The Downstream Dialogue 2025 is expected to provide a platform for industry leaders to discuss critical issues affecting the sector and explore opportunities for sustainable growth.
