Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited has presented a cheque for GH¢6.864 million to the Ayanfuri community to support local development initiatives under its corporate social responsibility programme.
The donation was made in fulfilment of the company’s obligations under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the community, reaffirming its commitment to improving the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.
Company officials said the funds would be used to finance priority community development projects aimed at improving the quality of life of people in Ayanfuri.
The presentation forms part of Perseus Mining’s ongoing partnership with its host communities, which focuses on promoting sustainable development through investments in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure and livelihood programmes.
Community leaders expressed appreciation to the mining company for honouring its commitment under the agreement, describing the financial support as a significant contribution towards the area’s development.
They pledged to ensure the funds are used judiciously for projects that will have a lasting impact on the lives of residents.
