The leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), together with the party’s flagbearer and legal team, is holding an emergency meeting to review a court judgement involving the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
In a statement issued by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said the meeting is aimed at thoroughly examining the ruling delivered by the court in the case concerning Chairman Wontumi’s involvement in the Samreboi mining matter.
The party said it is considering the appropriate next steps following the judgement and will communicate its official position after the deliberations.
Mr. Kodua Frimpong urged members of the NPP to remain calm and support the party’s leadership during what he described as a challenging period.
He called on party supporters to remain united, disciplined and committed to the values and interests of the NPP while awaiting further communication from the leadership.
