Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, participated in the opening day of the Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GHiPCON), a major industry gathering focused on the future of Africa’s downstream petroleum sector organized by National Petroleum Authority(NPA).
GHIPCON, a biennial event, brings together stakeholders in the downstream petroleum industry to deliberate on strategies and policies aimed at building a resilient and profitable petroleum industry across the continent.
Dr Abdul-Hamid attended the conference in multiple capacities, including as a former Chief Executive of the NPA, former President of the African Refiners and Distributors Association (ARDA), and Principal Consultant for his energy advisory firm, GreenSpark Consulting Group.
Reflecting on the first day of the conference, Dr Abdul-Hamid described the discussions as insightful and timely, highlighting the importance of collaboration among policymakers, industry players and investors to strengthen the sector.
This year’s conference is being held on the theme: “Building a Resilient Downstream: Policy, Innovation and Investment for Growth.”
