The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has intensified efforts to expand public awareness about specialised healthcare support by engaging Woezor TV in discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration on health education and advocacy.
As part of the initiative, the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Miss Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the management of Woezor TV to explore opportunities for partnership in promoting access to healthcare information and support services.
The engagement focused on raising public awareness about chronic and life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, kidney disease, stroke and other medical conditions that continue to affect thousands of individuals and families across the country.
Speaking during the visit, Miss Darko-Opoku underscored the important role of the media in helping vulnerable Ghanaians access critical information about healthcare services and support mechanisms available through the Trust Fund.
She noted that while many patients struggle with the financial burden of treatment, a significant number are also unaware of where to seek assistance, making public education an essential component of improving healthcare outcomes.
According to her, partnerships with trusted media organizations are vital to ensuring that accurate and life-saving information reaches communities across the country.
The discussions also explored ways of amplifying conversations on specialised healthcare, educating the public on the mandate and services of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, and encouraging greater awareness of available support for patients and their families.
Miss Darko-Opoku expressed appreciation to the management and staff of Woezor TV for their warm reception and willingness to support efforts aimed at improving the wellbeing of Ghanaians.
She emphasized that collaborative initiatives between the Trust Fund and the media can help bridge information gaps, increase public awareness, and ensure that more people are able to access the assistance they need during difficult health challenges.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund continues to engage key stakeholders as part of its broader strategy to improve access to healthcare support, strengthen public education, and provide hope to individuals and families battling chronic illnesses across the country.
