A fire outbreak has destroyed the Zabzugu market in the Northern Region, destroying large quantities of yams and other goods.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, February 23, left traders devastated as their wares were consumed by the flames.
Residents attempted to contain the fire but struggled due to the absence of a fire station in the Zabzugu District.

With no immediate support from the Ghana National Fire Service, community members had to rely on their own efforts to control the blaze.
Some traders were seen attempting to salvage their goods.
According to witnesses, the fire was caused by a strong windstorm that swept through the town, carrying the flames into the market.
