Firefighters from the Yendi Fire Station travelled about 61 kilometres on Monday, August 17, 2026, to respond to a fire outbreak at the Gushegu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Northern Region.
The fire engulfed the institution’s ICT laboratory and an adjoining classroom, raising concerns about the possibility of the flames spreading to other parts of the school.
Firefighters, however, acted swiftly upon arrival and successfully contained the blaze, preventing it from extending to other sections of the institution.
The fire was completely extinguished at 0913 hours, according to the incident report.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established and remains under investigation.
No statement was provided on the extent of damage to equipment and other property in the affected rooms.
