A delegation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by Sammy Awuku, Member of Parliament for Akuapem North has paid a courtesy call on the Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, ahead of the 200th anniversary celebration of the Odwira festival.
The delegation, comprising members of the NPP leadership in the Akuapem North Constituency, visited the Okuapehene to formally pay homage and extend goodwill to the traditional ruler, Nananom and the people of Okuapemman.
According to the delegation, the visit was undertaken on the instructions of NPP presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The delegation conveyed Dr Bawumia’s best wishes to the Okuapehene and the entire Akuapem Traditional Area as the community prepares to commemorate the milestone anniversary of the Odwira festival.
The NPP team also wished Nananom well and prayed for peace and prosperity in the Akuapem Traditional Area.
The 200th anniversary of Odwira is expected to bring together traditional leaders, residents and visitors to celebrate the cultural heritage and history of Okuapemman.
