Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has urged graduates of KAAF University to use their knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development as the institution transitions into a fully fledged university.
The Vice President made the call during KAAF University’s graduation ceremony held under the theme “Transforming Lives, Transforming Ghana.”
She described the occasion as a significant milestone in the history of the institution and commended the leadership, lecturers, administrators, staff, parents and guardians whose dedication and sacrifices contributed to KAAF’s growth and transformation.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed the need for the university to build public and industry confidence in the quality of its graduates by maintaining high academic standards and producing professionals equipped to meet national and global challenges.
She said the theme of the ceremony aligns with the government’s Resetting Ghana Agenda, noting that the transformation of the country begins with the development of its human capital.
According to her, government remains committed to placing education and skills development at the centre of national progress through initiatives such as the No Fees Stress initiative, reforms to the Students Loan Trust Fund, and continued investment in secondary education.
The Vice President also encouraged KAAF University to take advantage of opportunities presented by Ghana’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy by strengthening digital literacy, promoting interdisciplinary research, supporting technology-driven entrepreneurship and ensuring the responsible use of emerging technologies.
She highlighted the increasing participation of women in higher education, noting that women accounted for 58 per cent of the graduating class, describing it as an important achievement in expanding educational opportunities and promoting inclusive development.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also recognised the contributions of university staff, including junior and support personnel such as drivers, cleaners and other workers whose efforts often go unnoticed but remain essential to the smooth running of academic institutions.
She congratulated the graduating class of 2026, their families and the entire KAAF University community, wishing the graduates success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
She encouraged them to pursue futures defined by purpose, opportunity and meaningful service to Ghana.
